The ramp at Neil Armstrong Airport.  Two Chiefs, a Champ, and a Cessna 336 were all we got.  The clouds looming on thehorizon are the remains of a cold front that sat down over Ohio and kept a lot of Aeroncas away. Entrance to the Neil Armstrong Air & Space Museum in Wapakoneta, OH, the birthplace of Neil Armstrong.
The gang...from left to right: Paul Weaver, Paul Gould, Paul W's grand-daughter Taylor, Ray Johnson, Judy Johnson, my wife Carmen holding son Joseph, Me holding son Stephen, and David Gould. Part of the museum.  Neil Armstrong soloed in the Champ hanging on the wall.  We all thought it was a waste of a perfectly good airplane!
Another view of the Champ...NC83423.  This Champ is no longer registered. The Champ hanging vertical on the wall.
Interior of the Gemini space capsule...almost as roomy as a Chief! This docking hatch was manufactured and donated by who else?  Aeronca!
After the museum, we visited the Weaver family at their beautiful farm outside of Wapakoneta...complete with a 1800' grass strip! Another view of the farm and the Aeroncas...looks like a scene from 1947!  Wish we could have stayed here longer
On the way home...any signs of the cold front that moved through are gone now. Ohio farmland below.
Looking out the right side...a great 2 hour flight home.
